Youth Initiative Program
Accepting applications for August 2026 - June 2027 program in Sweden. Fluency in English required. Spread the word! YIP is a 10 month anthroposophically inspired programme for 18-28 yr olds.
Hello friends around the world,
Warm greetings from our outpost in India!
We on the team here at YIP (International Youth Initiative Program) would like to share with you that applications for YIP19 (2026-2027) are now open.
YIP is an Anthroposophically inspired 10-month residential, holistic education program in societal entrepreneurship for 18–28 year-olds. Surrounded by the beautiful natural sceneries in Ytterjärna, Sweden, young people from different countries come to encounter not only each other and the world, but also themselves.
YIP aims to strengthen young people’s capacity to take personal and collective initiative in the face of current global realities and to find their authentic task in the world. Participants live and learn together to explore the current challenges of our time, grow their personal awareness as well as their ability to work together. They meet inspiring individuals who are working on the cutting edge of finding creative and future orientated solutions to the complexity of the difficulties we see in the world in the realm of governance and activism, food sovereignty and initiative and initiation and much, much more.
Participating in YIP19 might be of interest within your network or within your broader community. We would be very grateful if you can spread the word to your network or to anyone you feel may be interested. Here is a media package with posters, flyers and videos that you can access. We would really appreciate it if you can pass this on within your network through your newsletters or school bulletin boards.
The first round of applications for YIP19 are open until the 28th of February, 2026. Apply now through the provided link: https://yip.se/application/

The YIP Curriculum
Community and Collaboration
Foster a lived understanding of the importance of community. Learn how to harness the power of the collective and work across difference. Develop skills in leadership, facilitation, hosting conversations and visioning.
Inner Awareness
Engage in a path of inner investigation to become aware of your own story, struggles and strivings to then step consciously into your full potential. Begin a Personal Initiative project that you work with throughout the year.
Global Realities
Be inspired by internationally acclaimed doers and innovators who offer an overview of some of our current global challenges.
International Internship
Experience a network, enterprise or organisation that has positive social, political or environmental change at its core. Develop interest and wonder in the diversity of human capacity whilst maintaining a personal intention.
Self Designed Curriculum
Enjoy the opportunity to co-design your own curriculum, whether this means inviting contributors of your choice or engaging in group inspired educational action and travel. The SDC culminates with the presentations of the Personal Initiatives.
Outpost
YIP19 will include an Outpost during which the whole programme will relocate for 3 months outside of the Schengen area. This is to allow for non European participants to join the program. The location of the outpost for YIP19 is yet to be confirmed!
Testimonials
My year in Sweden was the most influential time of my life. For me YIP was my first experience coming into contact with my truest expression as a human being. The consistent work within community living gave me the courage to start experimenting with how I wanted to be in relation to myself, and the world. Today I am a facilitator and a project manager, and there is not a single day that I do not draw from the invaluable tool kit that this program made available to me. I am doing my life’s work because of the incredible support that the YIP Organization and Program provided me. There will never be enough ways to say “thank you”.
- Kailea Frederick (YIP6)
Going to YIP was a turning point in my life. It was the catalyst for a transition from my old story, moving consciously towards a new way of understanding myself, my personal history and its place in the whole. The combination of course content, community living and abundance of opportunities helped to create this catalyst, whilst meeting many who will be mentors and friends for life. Imagine living for 10 months with an abundance of ideas and possibilities, intellectually stimulating conversation, soulful encounters, and nourishment for the body with organic local food and fresh water. YIP offers an opportunity, it’s then up to you to shape it into your own experience.
